Wings Financial Credit Union Senior Management Team
R. Frank Weidner, President/CEO – Mr. Weidner is currently President and CEO of Wings Financial Credit Union. Before joining Wings in November 2011, Mr. Weidner was Senior VP Member Services at $8 billion Alliant Credit Union (formerly UA Employees CU). In that role, Mr. Weidner was responsible for development and leadership of all member service areas including consumer and mortgage lending, branch and telecenter operations, business development and sponsor relations, marketing, e-commerce, collections, quality assurance, and more. Mr. Weidner joined Alliant in 1994 as the CFO & Director of Finance and Administration. Mr. Weidner previously held positions with US Federal Credit Union in Minnesota and with the national accounting firm of McGladrey & Pullen. He is a graduate of St. Johns University, in Collegeville, MN. In 2007 he earned his MBA from Norwich University. He holds certifications as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Credit Union Executive.
Mark S. Everson, Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer – Mr. Everson holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of Wings Financial. He is responsible for all consumer, commercial and mortgage lending activities of the credit union. In addition, Mr. Everson is responsible for Wings Financial Advisors, an investment advisory service for Wings Financial members which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the credit union. Mr. Everson oversees a motivated staff whose focus is providing outstanding service to our membership and who remain committed to the goals and objectives of the organization. Prior to joining Wings, Mr. Everson was Senior Vice President of Lending at IBM Mid America Employees Federal Credit Union. Along with increased management and strategic responsibilities, Mr. Everson’s 34 years in the financial services industry have afforded him hands-on experience in collections, consumer and real estate lending.
Gregory W. Higgins, Senior Vice President/Chief Administration Officer/General Counsel – Mr. Higgins’ responsibilities include internal audit, security, facilities, human resources, records retention and compliance. Mr. Higgins joined the credit union in 2012. Prior to joining the credit union, Mr. Higgins was a partner in a Fort Worth, TX law firm, where he represented clients in real estate, lending, and corporate matters. Prior to his tenure with the law firm, Mr. Higgins was general counsel for a financial institution in Fort Worth, TX. Mr. Higgins is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, and obtained an undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Oklahoma.
Vic Israni, Senior Vice President/Chief Risk and Finance Officer – Mr. Israni has been a part of the financial services industry for over 25 years, 14 of that in senior management positions. His last position was with a Canadian financial services institution in Alberta, where he was the Senior Vice President/Treasurer. Mr. Israni has extensive experience in treasury management, enterprise risk management, finance process improvement and transformation, and financial close and consolidation. He has led a number of large projects including finance and risk policy-making, asset liability management, debt and equity financing, corporate planning, and risk management for some of the largest banks in the United States. Mr. Israni holds an M.B.A. from the American Graduate School of International Management - Thunderbird and a Bachelor’s from St. John’s University.
David E. Mason, Senior Vice President/Digital and Chief Information Officer – Mr. Mason brings over 20 years' experience in the financial services industry. Mason began his career in the check-processing arena and was brought on-board in 1991 to oversee a conversion to in-house item processing. Over the past 20 years, he has worked in several areas of information systems, including Item Processing, Data Processing, Telecommunications and Networks. He was promoted to Vice President and Chief Information Officer in 2000.
John J. Wagner, Senior Vice President/Chief Member Experience Officer – Mr. Wagner has been with Wings Financial since June 2001. His responsibilities include all member-facing activities of the credit union. Included are Marketing, Business Development, Branch Operations, the Telephone Service Center and Card Services. Before joining the credit union, Mr. Wagner was a Vice President in the Retail Payment Systems group at U.S. Bank and was responsible for the development of the bank’s retail co-brand strategy, working with retailers like Target, Kroger and Albertson’s in the development of new payment products. Prior to U.S. Bank, Mr. Wagner was employed by Northwest Airlines in a variety of sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility. Mr. Wagner has a B.S. degree in Marketing from Syracuse University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota.
