Giving your dreams flight through exceptional service and value.

  • Wings was founded in 1938 by 7 airline employees.

  • Volunteer hours in one day on Wings Financial's annual Day of Service.

  • Our 349,000+ members span all 50 states and beyond.

Your dreams have Wings

Wings Financial was originally chartered by 7 Northwest Airlines employees who recognized the value of a cooperative financial institution where members help each other succeed financially. In this cooperative spirit, Wings is a not-for-profit financial institution where members are also owners. All earnings are reinvested in the credit union in the form of higher savings yields, lower loan rates, fewer and lower fees – as well as in-person, mobile and online service options.

Today, Wings gives flight to over 349,000 members’ dreams worldwide. While members often remark that Wings has a small community feel, we have the size and scale to offer superior pricing and service. At over $8.4 billion in assets, Wings is Minnesota’s largest credit union and ranks among the nation’s top 40 credit unions.

Wings Core Values

It is the people who make Wings what it is today. Our success comes from loyal members who trust us with their financial business each day, and our employees who work hard to provide each member with outstanding service.

A growing and vibrant membership.

Over the years, membership eligibility has expanded to include anyone who lives or works in specific geographic areas, including eligible Minnesota or Wisconsin counties; Orlando, FL; Detroit, MI; Seattle-Tacoma, WA; Atlanta, GA; as well the U.S. aviation industry and those who join via the Wings Financial Foundation.
