Yes.

Yes, you can change your checking account to the High-Yield Checking account. Your cards and account numbers will remain the same.
You can open an account online or in one of our branch locations.
Dividends are paid monthly (for example: January 1 – January 31).
Dividends are calculated based on the average daily balance in the account. If requirements are met, a higher rate will be paid for the first $25,000 and a lower rate will be paid for any amounts over $25,000.
The average daily balance is calculated by adding the balance in the account for each day of the period and dividing that figure by the number of days in the period.
If you currently have a First Class Checking account and want to change it to a High-Yield Checking account, you need to use your points before making the change.
This applies to members who use rewards for the debit card only. Reward points will not be affected if you also have a Wings Member Rewards Visa credit card.
Yes, you may setup Overdraft Protection with a Savings account or Line of Credit.
To earn the higher dividend rate, members must meet the following requirements:
A transaction is a PIN or signature point-of-sale purchase of over $5 in the 34 calendar days preceding the last business day of the month.
The net is calculated by counting the number of PIN and signature point-of-sale debit purchase transactions over $5 and subtracting any PIN or signature point-of-sale debit return transactions processed during that period.
Yes, you will receive an alert email detailing if you have not met any of the requirements and also what requirements you need to complete before the end of the month.
If you have met all requirements for the month you will not receive an alert.
Be sure that only one contactless device (say, your contactless card or mobile-payment-enabled phone) is near the terminal at one time.
Most contactless payments, including contactless Visa cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay, use the same NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.
Samsung Pay, however, works with both NFC technology and MST (Magnetic Secure Transition) technology, which can be used anywhere you can swipe.
You can still pay by inserting or swiping your card as usual.
When your current card expires or is reissued for another reason, your new card will be a contactless card.

Yes, you may use your Wings Visa® Debit Card, but we cannot guarantee that it will work for every transaction, as international merchants use varying forms of payment acceptance.

These cards comes with built-in chip technology allowing for enhanced fraud protection and more flexibility while travelling internationally, as well as no foreign transaction fees
To change your PIN, login to CU Online and select "Manage My Cards". visit one of our convenient branch locations, or change it at any Wings ATM.
(Please note that in order to change your PIN at an ATM, it must be a Wings ATM.)
Your PIN acts a signature when you use your debit card for point of sale transactions and to withdraw cash from an ATM.
For security reasons, you should keep your PIN number to yourself, when the number is used we think that you made the transaction.
If you forgot your PIN you can select a new PIN with "Manage My Cards" in CU Online or by visiting any branch location (photo ID required for security security purposes).
Call Member Services at 1 800 692-2274 to have one ordered for you.
If you have a Wings Financial Credit Union checking account you'll want to get our dual-purpose debit card. You can use the debit card at a merchant for purchases or at an ATM to withdraw cash.

If you have questions about your deposit limit, please contact Wings at 800 692-2274 and a Member Service Representative will be able to assist you.

No. Samsung Pay will not work at ATMs (Automated Teller Machines).

Open the Google Pay app and touch the plus sign in the bottom right corner, Touch Add a credit or debit card, use the camera to capture your card or manually enter the information.
With Apple Pay™, instead of using your actual credit and debit card numbers when you add your card, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored. And when you make a purchase, the Device Account Number alongside a transaction-specific dynamic security code is used to process your payment. So your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.
In addition, paying with Apple Pay is private as the cashier never sees your name, card numbers or security code.
No, the password to access the phone is independent and in addition to the authentication required for Apple Pay™.
Cardholders must set up a pass-code, PIN, biometric identification, or other comparable authentication mechanism enabled by Apple to control access to the Apple Payment Platform on an Enabled Device.
You will need an Android device running Kit Kat (4.4) or higher. Your phone also needs to support near field communication and host card emulation.
To use Samsung Pay, you need:
Each card in Google Pay is assigned a virtual account number. Instead of your actual card number being used for purchases you virtual account number is used.
If the information in your Apple account is different than what is on file with Wings, you may have to verify it is you requesting Apple Pay™. This is just an extra security step from Apple.
Simply have your card available, call the provided number, and we will work with you to verify your card. Once verified, Passbook will send a message letting you know that you may use Apple Pay.

Credit score reports will be updated on a quarterly basis, in March, June, September and December.
No. A change in your credit score will not impact existing credit accounts. However, it could influence the rates you are offered on future applications for credit.
Credit scores are calculated from the credit data in your credit report. This data is grouped into five Categories:
A credit score is a number that summarizes your credit risk, based on your credit data. A credit score helps lenders evaluate your credit profile and influences the credit that’s available to you, including loan and credit card approvals, interest rates, credit limits and more.
Although each consumer reporting agency formats and reports this information differently, all credit reports contain basically the same categories of information: Identifying Information, Credit Accounts, Credit Inquiries, and Bankruptcies and Collections.
Credit scoring models weigh many different factors, including the mix of types of accounts, the number of accounts you have and the length of time you've had them.
First, enroll in credit score reporting. Once you have enrolled:
VantageScore is one of the leading credit scoring models, and VantageScore 4.0 is a highly predictive model of an individual's credit behavior. It offers these benefits:
It's important to recognize that the various scoring models use slightly different criteria to determine your credit score. Newer models like VantageScore 4.0 are designed on the most recent timeframe and represent current consumer and lending practices. More data is incorporated to give a more complete picture of your credit standing. Also:
It all comes down to when the report is pulled. If your member report and loan application are pulled on the same day, they should show the same number. But keep in mind, credit scores can change more than once per month, so the odds are low that they will be identical. Your member report should provide a general idea of where you stand.
No. The reports pulled for this are called “soft” inquiries. Soft inquiries are all credit inquiries where your credit is NOT being reviewed by a prospective lender.
With Wings, you can get pre-approved before you start looking for your home, so you'll know how much you can afford.
Down payment requirements may vary by loan type. However, at Wings, first-time homebuyers can put as little as 3% down with a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage.
An escrow account is a common feature of a mortgage loan. An escrow account makes it easier to pay necessary expenses on your property – like taxes and insurance – by incorporating them into your monthly mortgage payment, rather than paying them in lump sums.
PMI is typically required if your down payment is less than 20% of the home's value. It is designed to protect the lender in case you stop making payments on your loan.
No, you are automatically signed up for Automated Fraud Alerts with a Wings Visa® Credit or Debit Card.
Fraud Alerts are an innovative technology that allows you to respond quickly to digital voice messages, SMS text messages and/or emails to confirm the validity of suspicious transactions.
Automated Fraud Alerts follow the standard guidelines for Fraud Detection Services. Fraud Alerts are attempted between the hours of 8am and 9pm in the member’s time zone. Inbound calls are accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The SMS texts for fraud alerts will come from 91937.
The blocking of your card number depends on transaction(s) in question. Automated Fraud Alerts is simply another communication channel and it does not change the process already in place with Fraud Detection services today.
Yes, closing costs can range from $50 - $3,000. Wings will waive up to $300 (excluding appraisal if one is required).
You may transfer available funds from your line of credit to your checking account in CU Online or on the Wings Mobile App.
A portion of your interest may be tax-deductible (consult your tax advisor).
The ability to make payments on the interest-only portion of your credit line during the draw period can offer a lower monthly payment over that time than if you were paying on the principal plus interest. Only available for lines approved with 80% loan-to-value (LTV).
No, there are no closing costs on a Home Improvement Loan.
You can borrow up to $50,000 with a Home Improvement Loan.
A Home Improvement Loan is a one-time installment loan at a fixed rate, providing a single lump sum and predictable monthly payments over the loan’s term. The loan is not secured by a dwelling.
A Home Equity Line of Credit is a revolving, variable-rate line of credit you can draw on as is needed, over a time frame of up to 10 years.

If you expect to be in a higher tax bracket when you retire, you may benefit more from a Roth IRA, since contributions are nondeductible and taxed in the year they are earned.
You may also choose between an IRA Certificate with a specific term, an IRA Share Account or an Investment Money Market Account.
You must be a member of Wings (with a Primary Share Account) prior to opening a Retirement Account. If you are not currently a member, open your account online or download a membership application.

Supporting Financial Education The Wings Financial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides youth and adult educational programs to fulfill a growing need for financial literacy at every age. The Foundation also administers a number of scholarship opportunities to support members' higher education. Contributions to the Wings Financial Foundation go directly to support these educational initiatives.
Wings Membership Eligibility
The Foundation also offers the opportunity for Wings Financial Credit Union membership to individuals who do not qualify through their employment or community membership eligibility. These individuals may take advantage of the money-saving benefits of Wings membership with a minimum $5 donation* to the Wings Financial Foundation.
A Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned and member-operated financial cooperative. We offer members comprehensive financial services at very competitive rates and terms. And, we do it with the personal attention our members deserve.
Unlike banks, credit unions are member-owned financial cooperatives; so when you join Wings Financial Credit Union, your initial deposit to open a share account establishes your membership and makes you a part-owner. (This initial $5 deposit secures your membership and cannot be removed, but is not subject to fees, overdrafts, etc).
Since there are no outside bank stockholders to satisfy, Wings passes on the savings to you in the form of lower mortgage and loan rates, fewer service fees and higher yields on savings and checking.

Yes, the top-up amount charged to your credit or debit card will be treated as a normal purchase and can earn points according to the standard eligible transaction requirements.
When canceling a booking or requesting a refund for a portion of your travel booking, you will work directly with the travel merchant, as your booking is associated with your Wings credit or debit card. The timing of point refunds will depend on how quickly the travel merchant processes and issues your refund.
For the best travel experience, it is required that your booking be tied to your Wings credit or debit card. This will allow you to work directly with the airline, hotel or rental car merchant if you need to alter or cancel your itinerary. Once the booking has been completed, Wings Financial will issue a statement credit back to your account in the equivalent amount to the points you redeemed.
It's easy!

A conversation with a Personal Teller is just as private as if a member were talking to a teller in the branch, but for greater privacy there is a handset.
No, using a PTM is the same as going to a teller window inside a branch. There are no additional fees.
PTMs can disperse cash in 1s, 5s, 20s, 50s or 100s. ATMs will only disperse in 5s, 20s, 50s or 100s.
The PTM has a camera for face-to-face transactions, a touch screen so members can enter information, a scanner to scan ID, audio via handset, earbud or speaker, receipt printer, cash and check acceptors, and it functions as a regular ATM without deposits when Personal Tellers are not available.
A Personal Teller Machine looks like an ATM, but a member can have real-time, face-to-face conversation with a Wings Personal Teller. A video camera on each side allows the member to interact with the Personal Teller located at our corporate offices. Sound is carried through speakers, a handset, or an optional headphone jack on the PTM.
Members can do just about every transaction they can do with a teller inside one of our branches. Members can make deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash checks, make loan payments and more!
PTMs are unable to dispense change. If a check is cashed that includes change, the change will be deposited directly into the member’s account.
Wings is dedicated to putting technology to work to create a better banking experience for members. Expanding our service by adding Personal Teller Machines provides greater convenience, just as when we introduced Online Banking and Mobile Apps.

Voice ID is a streamlined and secure way to receive service over the phone. However, if you prefer to opt out, you can do so at any time.
No, because it's not a recording. Voiceprints are a mathematical representation of the biometric and behavioral features of your voice; a series of numbers that would not allow a hacker to reconstruct your actual voice.
There's nothing specific you need to do. The next time you call Member Services at 1 800 692-2274, we'll create your voiceprint while we're assisting you.
Each member will have one voiceprint associated with their account profile. If you have a joint account (say with your spouse), you will each have your own voiceprint.
If for any reason we're unable to verify your identity through your voiceprint (for example, if there's background noise), we will verify you using alternative methods.
A voiceprint is a set of traits unique to your voice pattern, created from more than 100 physical and behavioral voice characteristics, including pitch, accent, and the shape/size of your vocal tract.
Generally, yes, the slight changes due to a cold or illness won't interfere with Voice ID. In more extreme instances, we will verify you using alternative methods until you feel better.
